Located on the eighth floor, the Shambhala Kalachakra Mandala is magnificent, grand in scale, and exquisitely crafted. It was certified by Guinness on March 12, 2015, as the largest indoor three-dimensional mandala in the world, with a diameter of 14.23 meters and a height of 7.37 meters. It consists of five layers, is made of wood wrapped in copper gilding, uses 15 kilograms of pure gold, and cost nearly 50 million yuan. The entire mandala houses 1,177 Buddha statues and contains offerings such as grains, rare treasures, Tibetan medicine, scriptures, and sacred objects from major monasteries in the Tibetan region. These offerings enhance the solemnity of the mandala. The structure of the mandala, from bottom to top and from outside to inside, embodies an ideal and a set of principles. Legend has it that the king of Shambhala sought teachings from the Buddha for the peace and health of his nation. The essence and significance of this scenic area also reflect a longing for peace and tranquility in the real world. The exquisite Kalachakra Mandala is an illusion of pure land and a hope for reality.

Crossing the threshold and walking to the outer edge of the eighth floor, overlooking the city of Shangri-La, everything within the Shambhala Kalachakra Mandala scenic area seems inseparable from the outside world. The dramatic changes in Shangri-La appear to be a description by the children of the plateau about their ideals in reality.
